Issue #12

Welcome to Issue #12 of Sonic Postcards!

The standout track for me is Scott Hirsch's cover of "Ain't No More Cane". I did a little research on the song to figure out who originally wrote it thinking it was either Bob Dylan or the Band. It turns out that "Ain't No More Cane on this Brazos" is actually a traditional prison work song from the South. It is wild looking at the list of artists who have gravitated towards the track and recorded their own versions - The Band, Bob Dylan, Son Volt, Band of Heathens, Ian Gillian of Deep Purple, The Wood Brothers, and Lyle Lovett among others.

That's it for this week. Enjoy the tracks.
