Issue #48
Featuring tracks from Purling Hiss, Scarlet Street, The Lovelines, Venna, Masego, Mick Jenkins, and Zimmer
Welcome to Issue #48 of Sonic Postcards!
Issue #48 starts with a crescendo of distortion and closes out with a lullaby. There’s been a lot of good music coming out this month and it has been a fun puzzle on how to mix the genres across only five tracks. This week’s issue covers all the food groups and has a little bit of rock, pop-punk, lofi, hip hop, and electronic.
The standout for me is “Yer All In My Dreams” from Purling Hiss. It sounds a lot like early Futurebirds (song title included) mixed in with the overdriven fuzz of J Mascis. It is refreshing to hear new music coming out where people are still ripping on a guitar.
That’s it for this week. Enjoy the tracks!
Best,
Ben
