Issue #56
Featuring tracks from Lana Del Rey, Bleachers, Pop Goes Ambient, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, Amelia Magdalena, Taylor Swift, Snakehips, Ryan Beatty, and Hazel Engli
Welcome to Issue #56 of Sonic Postcards!
Lana Del Rey rules the day right now. She has a new album out called Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd. The first half is average, but the second half of the album is fantastic. Six out of the 16 tracks on the album ended up in my bullpen of tracks to include on this week’s issue.
“Margaret” is ultimately the track I ended up choosing but “Kintsugi” and “Peppers” were close contenders. I highly recommend giving the whole album a listen.
Also of note this week is Hazel English’s cover of “Slide” by The Goo Goo Dolls. After Phoebe Bridgers and Maggie Rogers’s amazing cover of “Iris,” who would have thought we would get lucky enough for another fantastic Goo Goo Dolls cover.
That’s it for this week. Happy listening!
Best,
Ben
