Issue #81
Featuring tracks from Tems, Daniel Noah Miller, Lewis Del Mar, Zach Bryan, Noah Kahan, Mat Kerekes, Lack of Afro, and Greg Blackman
Looking for new music? Love art? Every week I create a short, five track playlist of the songs I am feeling at the moment along with a beautiful, found postcard. It’s a spark of joy for your eyes and ears.
A big thanks to subscriber Evan Griffith who just became the first paid subscriber of Sonic Postcards! The generosity and support made my week!
Sonic Postcards will keep on trucking as a free newsletter, but if you are feeling generous and want to give the project some legs, you can upgrade to a paid subscription of either $5/month or $50/year. You can do so by
Heading over to https://www.sonicpostcards.io/,
Signing into the newsletter with the email you subscribed with,
Clicking the Upgrade to Paid button
I recorded this Loom video that provides a demo of how to upgrade. Free or paid, thank you all very much for the support and reading/listening!
Now, onto the music.
Another big thanks to subscriber Joe Harris who pushed me to take the time to listen to Noah Kahan. It took me a couple of full listens to Stick Season to fully get it, but now that I get, I get it. Such a great album as is his recent collaboration on “Sarah’s Place” with Zach Bryan that is included in this week’s playlist.
The other standout for this week is “Me & U” from Nigerian singer and producer Tems. The vibe and tempo are on point.
One last recommendation for the week would be the print publication Mountain Gazette. Outside of the fantastic writing, photos, and illustrations, they are most known for their unusual format. It is a giant, king of the coffee table kind of publication in 11 x 17 format. They just released issue 200 and it has been a joying paging through the nearly 200 pages of beauty.
Listen to the playlist on Spotify.
